Why? Because they don’t have to. I don’t say this lightly. Previously, students used to cheat. Now colleges do. Recently, Columbia University settled a lawsuit for $9 million over US News college ranking. Students complained that Columbia provided false data and artificially inflated its ranking. But why would a reputed university do this? Money! Isn’t it funny that these colleges teach ethics to students. Rather than teaching ethics classes, these schools’ management need to sit in them. The message that these institutions send is sickening. If you can’t reach the top by ethical means, do whatever it takes!
